This unique site is home to the original lime kilns from the 1870s, a relic of the first commercial use of this countries’ mineral resources. Adjacent to the car park is a Rimu tree planted by Lord Bledisloe. In 1934 during the official opening of the park. The recently upgraded bush loop trail takes visitors through beautiful native bush.
